Create the WooCommerce integration in PrivateMile
Settings → Integrations → WooCommerce. PrivateMile generates a webhook URL and a secret for your store.

Add the webhook in WooCommerce
WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks → Add webhook. Status Active, topic Order created (or Order updated), paste the delivery URL and the secret, API version WP REST API v3. WooCommerce signs every payload.

Dispatch as usual
Orders appear on the board as they are placed. Plan, assign or auto-dispatch; the customer gets a tracking link when a driver is assigned.

How the WooCommerce connection works
WooCommerce can POST a JSON copy of an order to a URL of your choice whenever an order is created or updated. PrivateMile gives each WooCommerce integration its own URL and secret. WooCommerce signs each payload with that secret using HMAC-SHA256; PrivateMile verifies the signature with a timing-safe comparison before creating anything, and records WooCommerce’s delivery ID so a retried webhook cannot create a duplicate.
What dispatch sees
The order arrives with the customer, phone, geocoded shipping address, line items and checkout note. The delivery window defaults to your organisation’s setting. From there it is an ordinary PrivateMile order — plan it on the map, assign it or let auto-dispatch choose, and follow it to the door.
What the customer sees
A tracking link by SMS or email as soon as a driver is assigned, on a page with your store’s logo and colours. A live map, an arrival window, an “arriving soon” message, and proof of delivery when it lands. Your brand throughout.
Multiple stores or depots
Each WooCommerce store can be its own integration, and each depot its own warehouse with a zone. Orders route to the right location automatically, and reports break down by store and by site.
Do I need to install anything on my WordPress site?
No. WooCommerce ships with webhooks built in. You add one in Settings → Advanced → Webhooks pointed at the URL PrivateMile gives you. There is no plugin and nothing to keep compatible with WordPress updates.
Order created or Order updated — which topic?
Order created is the usual choice: one webhook per new order. Use Order updated if orders are created as pending and only become deliverable once paid or processed — PrivateMile de-duplicates by WooCommerce’s delivery ID either way.
What happens to an order whose address cannot be found?
The order is still created and flagged so dispatch can correct the address on the board. Nothing is silently dropped.
Can delivery status flow into another system?
Yes — every delivery event (assigned, started, completed, failed, payment collected and more) is available as an outbound webhook and as a Zapier trigger.
