Where the two differ most
Which tier holds the feature you need. This is the comparison that decides most switches, and it is not really about price. On Onfleet’s published plans, auto-dispatch, barcode scanning, advanced route optimization with API access, custom fields, dynamic ETA notifications and guided onboarding all sit on Scale. Enhanced branding sits on Enterprise.
Auto-dispatch is the one that matters on a Tuesday. It is the difference between a dispatcher who spends the first ninety minutes of the day assigning stops by hand and one who spends it on the two orders that actually need thinking about. On Onfleet it is a third-tier feature. Here it is on the first plan, along with barcode-verified proof, route optimization, custom fields and white-label tracking on your own domain.
Then the price. Both platforms count a pickup and a delivery as separate tasks, so the tiers line up exactly:
- 2,500 orders — 5,000 tasks. PrivateMile $150. Onfleet’s tier that carries auto-dispatch at that volume is $1,349.
- 5,000 orders — 10,000 tasks. PrivateMile $250. Onfleet’s is $3,099.
Onfleet’s entry plan is $619 a month before you deliver anything, and it does not include auto-dispatch. We do not price by driver either, so hiring for a busy season does not change your bill.
The AI copilot. PrivateMile lets a dispatcher create, assign and query orders in plain language — “who can take two more stops in the east?” — and confirms before anything is applied. It is unusual in this category, and it is included.
Where Onfleet is strong. Onfleet has been in last-mile delivery for a long time, with a mature API and an ecosystem of partner integrations. Larger enterprises that have built around it, or that need a specific partner, may find that ecosystem decisive. Their driver app is well regarded and their support organisation is bigger than ours.
The honest part about our size
Onfleet has been doing this far longer than we have, and their support organisation is bigger than ours. What we can tell you is the record so far: over 1,000 deliveries have been dispatched through PrivateMile, and none of them was lost to a platform failure. What switching looks like
Most teams run both side by side for a few days on the trial: same orders, same drivers, two boards. Import is a CSV, the driver app installs from the App Store or Google Play, and tracking pages go live with your logo the same day. If something you rely on today is missing here, we would rather tell you before you switch than after.

How hard is it to move from Onfleet?

Will my drivers need retraining?
The driver app is a clear list of stops with one action per screen and navigation handed to the maps app they already use. Most drivers are comfortable on their first route.
Do you have Onfleet’s API?
PrivateMile has a REST API for creating, reading and cancelling orders — singly or in batches — with per-client keys, field mappings and outbound webhooks for every delivery event. If you have a specific integration in mind, ask and we will tell you plainly whether it is covered.
