What is Geofencing?

A virtual boundary around a stop, depot or zone that triggers an action when a driver’s phone enters or leaves it — such as marking an arrival automatically.

The most useful geofence in delivery is the small one around each stop. When the driver’s phone crosses it, the platform knows the driver has arrived — without the driver tapping anything. That keeps every downstream ETA honest, because the timeline is computed from what actually happened rather than from what the driver remembered to record.

Larger geofences define service zones: which depot serves which area, which drivers work which territory, and where auto-dispatch by zone sends an incoming order.
